We have noticed that many people like our web site, especially the show listings. We have noticed it, because some of you (only a few) are copying and pasting the complete page from us onto their own sites. This is flattering that you like what we do so much that you use it as your own, but please don't do it. You are doing us, yourself and your visitors a disservice. We update Capital Cruisin' almost every single day. By copying and posting our material once, you will not have the most up-to-date information in later weeks. If you run a club web site and want to post some show listings that you want the whole club to attend, that's fine. Copying the whole page is not. Link to our pages instead so that you are providing your vistors with the most up-to-date information without doing all the work. We do that. Thanks! Nick Capital Cruisin'

 

SPECIAL EVENT FOR TRUCKS ONLY!JULY 4th The 1st Annual Invitational Truck Event! Stafford Classics is putting on a display during the Fredericksburg Heritage Festival from from 8 AM to 4 PM. The Heritage Festival is an all day gathering of activities, food and crafts that begins with a 5 mile run and ends in a fireworks display on the Rappahannock River. The Festival began in 1972 by the Rotary Club in Fredericksburg VA and has grown to over 150 vendors in attendance during the day. There are over 10,000 people that walk through Fredericksburg on that day and view the vendors and displays. They are going to be one of the displays again this year. This year they have decided to have American pick up trucks as the theme. The event is on pavement and there is no cost to the participants. Here is a link to last years pics so you can get a flavor for it. If you have a special truck that you would like to enter please contact Chuck. Include a picture of your truck if you can. This is not a "contest" but a display, you should be able and willing to talk about your truck with some of the 10,000 people that will be walking through the display. The event is invitation only as will have limited parking spaces to properly display the vehicles so let Chuck know if you would like to be considered as a participant as soon as you can.

JULY 4th The Annual Town of Strasburg Free Cruise-in will be held at the Strasburg Town Park (Park Road & Queen Street) from 5-9 PM with fireworks at dusk against Signal Knob mountains. Rain date is 7/5. Dash plaques to the first 100 registered vehicles, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, food, fun and games. Award for Chief of Police pick and Mayor’s pick. JULY 4th The 10th Annual Car and Bike Show will be held in downtown Culpeper VA at the Depot and Davis St. All cars, trucks, motorcycles welcome. Feature car this year will be all Ford Thunderbirds. JULY 5th The Annual Sheehy Ford Summer Show & Shine Car Show will be held at the dealership in Gaithersburg MD. This show is open to all Ford, Lincoln and Mercury powered or bodied vehicles. There is a $5 entry fee per vehicle and all money collected and donated will go to the National Race for the Cure for Breast Cancer Research. There will be free food from Subway Sub Shop, free ice cream from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream and free grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. Call Chris at (703)445-8111 (x102).

JULY 10-11th The 16th Annual Celebrate Damascus show will be held at the American Legion Post 171 and Damascus Volunteer Fire Dept Carnival Grounds at 10201 Lewis Dr from 10 AM to 4 PM in Damascus MD.

JULY 10-12th The 12th Goodguys PPG Nationals will be held at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus OH. Rods, Customs, Classics and Muscle Cars from 1972 and older.

JULY 11th The 8th Annual Bash at the Bridge will be held from 10 AM to 4 PM at Capon Bridge Fire Hall Grounds on Rt 50 West in Capon Bridge WV and will be hosted by the United States Muscle Car Federation. Judged classes with awards being presented to 1st and 2nd in each class. Dash plaques to first 100. Entry fee is by donation with all proceeds going to the Timbrook Memorial Scholarship Fund. JULY 18th The The Valley Cruisers of Winchester 20th Anniversary Cruise-in will be held at the Newtown Commons Park in Stephens City VA. Rain date is 7/19. Free registration from 9 AM to 12 noon and the event last til 3 PM. Commemorative 20th anniversary Match Box car to the first 100 registered vehicles to be given out at 3 PM. JULY 18th The Fort Belvoir Car & Bike Shine and Show will be held from 10 AM to 5 PM on the Ft. Belvoir P2 Field right off Rte 1. Preregistration for cars is $10 with all proceeds going to benefit the base soldiers' Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) fund and Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) fund. Admission is free for spectators. Registration the day of the show is $15. Trophies will be awarded at 3 PM for nine classes of motorcyles, cars, and trucks, plus for Best in Show. JULY 25th The 2nd Annual Manassas Park HS Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be held from (rain date is July 26th) 9 AM to 3 PM in the Manassas Applebee's parking lot located at 9501 Liberia Ave. Registration is $15 with registration from 9 AM to 12 noon. This is a judged event. Free spectator admission. Best of trophies, Top 50 plaques, door prizes and dash plaques will be given/awarded. Also a 50/50. Music, concessions and vendors will be on site. JULY 25th The 7th Annual Summer Thunder Cruise In will be held in Franklin Park in Purcellville VA from 3 PM to 7 PM. All makes and models are welcome. Live band. AUG 1st The Brandy Station VFD Car Truck Show Show will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM. In conjunction with the Annual Firemen's Fair at the Fair Grounds on Rt. 685 (20057 Fleetwood Heights Rd). Best of Show, Top 45, Fireman's Choice Longest Distance, Best Ford, Best Chevy, Best Mopar Best Truck, Best Import, Best Club Participation. Music, door prizes, 50/50, food available. $12 registration fee. Cash only, no checks.

AUG 1st The Mustang Mania Car Show will be held at Apple Ford located at 8800 Stanford Blvd in Columbia MD from 10 AM to 3 PM. Sponsored by Apple Ford and the Bayside Mustang Club of MD. AUG 2nd Cool Rides & Hot August Nights will be held at the Family Drive-in in Stephens City VA on Rt. 11 South. Rain date 8/9. Gates open at 5:30 PM for Cruisers only. AUG 8th The Annual All GM Show will be held at Montgomery College in Rockville MD from 9 AM to 3 PM. Hosted by The Capitol City Rockets and the Metro Buick Club. Last year the event drew over 175 GM cars and trucks. There are classes for stock and modified cars from the beginning of GM through current day. Cars may preregister by clicking above, which will direct you to the site at Hemmings. You may use the PayPal button on the home page to pay and get more information regarding classes and the show. Pre-registration is $15, day of show drive up registration is $20.

AUG 8th The Lazy A Campground Car Show and Picnic Cancer Benefit will be held in Glengary WV from 9 AM to 3 PM. Bring your car and a covered dish, and enjoy the music by Rockin Rods. $10 registration fee, door prizes, Top 20 awards, games. All vehicles welcome. Take I-81 to exit 5 (Inwood, WV). Get on 51 West. Go about 5 miles to the stop sign at top of hill. Turn left onto 45. Go about 3 miles down to Glengary WV. Turn right at signs. AUG 15th The Hite’s Chapel United Methodist Church 5th Annual Car Show will be held from 9 AM to 3 PM. Registration $10. Top 20 Awards plus specialty awards. Rain date is 8/22. AUG 15th The 7th Annual Open Car Show will be held at 11324 Chancellor Baptist Church (lots of parking spaces) Gordon Rd in Spotsylvania VA. $20 registration fee at gate. AUG 15th The 3rd Annual Saint Agnes Car Show will be held from 11 AM to 3 PM at the University of Maryland Catonville Campus. The unique array of cars will be displayed in Parking Lot #22 at Wilkens Ave and Hilltop Rd. All makes and models of cars, trucks and imports are invited to attend. SEPT 26th The 4th Annual Superkids Car & Bike Show will be held from 9 AM to 5 PM at Prince George High School located at 7801 Laurel Springs Rd in Prince George VA. This is a judged show. Dash plaques to 1st 200 registered. 25 Car/Truck Trophies, 14 Bike Trophies, and a total of 60 Plaques, with 20 in early to 1954, 20 in 1955-1972, and 20 in 1973-Present classes. Pre-registered only $20 before September 12th. $25 afterward. Drawing for pre-registered $100 gas card. $5,000 in cash awards. OCT 3rd The Run on the Ridge Show will be held from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Timber Ridge School located at 1463 New Hope Rd in Cross Junction VA. Rain date is October 4th from 12 noon to 5 PM. Judged competition with awards presented to the Top 50 cars and trucks as well as Top 5 Motorcycles and three huge Best of Show awards. Food served on site by the School. OCT 10th The 2nd Annual "Fast Cars & Freedom" All American Charity Car Show will be held at 8180 Greensboro Dr in McLean VA from 9 AM till 4 PM. All Proceeds Benefit Fisher House. OCT 17th The All American Street Rod's National Harbor 1st Annual Cruisin' on the River Classic Car and Truck Show will be held from 9 AM to 4 PM at the National Harbor Center on the Potomac river at the Wilson bridge. This show will be advertised on TV, newspapers and more. Over 6000 parking spaces to accommodate this huge event! There will be huge trophies and cash prizes. More details coming soon. OCT 17th The Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show will be held at the Rockville Civic Center in Rockville MD from 11 AM to 4 PM.

OCT 24th The Shenandoah Valley Young Marines Car Show will be held from 10 AM to 2:30 PM at the Winchester Elks Lodge at 422 Front Royal Pike in Winchester VA. Registration is a donation to the Shenandoah Valley Young Marines. Trophies awarded and presented by the Young Marines for favorite car, truck and motorcycle and most patriotic vehicle. Plenty of door prizes. Pre-registration or register the day of the show. Registration starts at 8:30 AM the day of the show. Dash plaques to the first 100 cars. Come early and enjoy an all you can eat pancake breakfast, tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the door. 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the Shenandoah Valley Young Marines. OCT 24th The 3rd Annual Potomac Day Classic Car Show will be held in Potomac MD in the parking lot at the intersection of Falls and River Road behind the Semmes Building from 8 AM til 3 PM. Once again this year's proceeds will go to a local charity as last year. This will be a judged show with an awards ceremony. OCT 25th The Hoppers Auto Club 50th Anniversary Auto Show will be held at Miller’s Cross Pointe Motor Cars Sales at 3985 Valley Pike (Exit 310 off I-81 on Rt. 11 South) in Winchester VA.
